Nuclear Stress Imaging / Nuclear Stress Test
A Nuclear Stress Test is an advanced cardiac imaging examination used to evaluate blood flow to the heart muscle and assess how well the heart functions during stress and at rest. A small amount of a radioactive imaging tracer is administered, and specialized imaging equipment is used to create pictures of blood flow through the heart.
The test can help physicians identify reduced blood flow that may indicate coronary artery disease, evaluate the heart after certain cardiac events or procedures, and determine how effectively the heart is functioning.
